How we present information
Florida Bail Bond Reform is committed to presenting information transparently. Whenever possible, we rely on original legislation, Florida statutes, court decisions, official government records, published research, and clearly identified source material.
We distinguish factual information from analysis, opinion, advocacy, and industry perspectives so visitors can understand not only what is being said — but where the information came from.
Content classifications
Every article, research entry, and statistic on this site carries one of the following labels. The labels are applied consistently sitewide.
- Official Government Source
- Records, filings, datasets, or publications issued by a government body acting in its official capacity.
- Florida Law
- The text of the Florida Constitution, Florida Statutes, administrative rules, or rules of criminal procedure.
- Court Decision
- A published opinion or order of a Florida or federal court, cited to the decision itself.
- Academic Research
- Peer-reviewed or institutionally published study, working paper, or evaluation with a stated method.
- Data / Statistics
- Quantitative material reported with its collection period, jurisdiction, and issuing agency.
- News Reporting
- Reporting by a news organization, attributed to the outlet and the publication date.
- Analysis
- Interpretation of law, data, or policy by an identified author. Reasoned, but not a primary source.
- Bail Industry Perspective
- Material published by the commercial bail bond profession or its trade organizations.
- Reform Advocacy Perspective
- Material published by organizations advocating for changes to bail or pretrial policy.
- Opinion / Commentary
- Commentary presenting a personal or editorial viewpoint.

Each factual article records the following about every source it relies on. Nothing on this site is cited without them.
- Source name
- Original publication
- Original URL
- Publication date
- Author or organization
- Date added to FLBailBondReform.com
- Last verified date
- Source category
- Language
- Verification status
View Original Source →Wherever an original source is publicly available, a direct link to it appears with the citation. We do not create citations, publication dates, authors, statistics, or URLs that we have not verified.
Dates shown on articles
- Originally Published
- When the article first appeared on this site.
- Last Reviewed
- When an editor last checked the article against its primary sources, whether or not anything changed.
- Last Updated
- When the substance of the article last changed, with a short note describing the change.
When we do not have verified information
Laws, court decisions, government data, and legislation change. Where a section is not yet verified, it says so plainly — “Information currently being verified” — rather than presenting an estimate as a fact.
